Book Giveaway – Edwin: High King of Britain
In honour of the release of Oswald: Return of the King, the second volume in The Northumbrian Thrones series, I’m giving away, to people who haven’t yet had the chance to read the first instalment, three copies of Edwin: High King of Britain. I’ll post the books anywhere in the world at my expense and all you have to do to enter is leave your name in the comments below and then use the contact me bit of the website so I have your email to get back to you if you win.
As this is my giveaway, I’m likely to look with more interest at people who give me an idea of why they’d like to read the book, but you don’t have to say if you don’t want to.
So, as the saying goes, you have to be in it to win it! Comment away.
Note: the giveaway is now over. Thank you very much to the people who entered and I hope you enjoy reading Edwin.

We have literally just discovered (but not yet read) Edoardo. Having avidly consummed Bernard Cornwall’s Warrior series a couple years ago, my wife & I took our campervan to Northumbria and visited places we learned of from the books (Bambrugh, Lindisfarne, St Cuthbert’s Cave etc). Falling in love with the county only served to fuel our enjoyment of books about the Dark & Middle Ages (Justin Hill, James Aitchison, James Wilde, Giles Kristian). We will be reading The Northumbrian Thrones trilogy and following that up with another tour of the area in our van to visit places mentioned. It may sound twee but it gives our holiday purpose and adds considerable colour.
Thanks for the comment, Rhys. If you drop me an email with your address I will send you your free copy of Edwin!
I have to tell you that I do not know Northumbria. However I am very interested in history, nevertheless. I like to read about kings and queens, about royals. Your book would be much appreciated.
Dear Edoardo,
I’d love a free book…because, well I love books. Also, I know very little about the period – one of the in-between bits Alfred Duggan didn’t cover – and I’d love to know more about it.

Oh my goodness, you’re up there with Francine Rivers and Mel Starr. Well done Old Boy, well done…I’m halfway through ‘Oswald: Return of the King’ by the way– and if I ever stop kicking my heels and decide to let those characters on my head loose on the page— well you never know.
That’s high praise indeed! Thank you very much. I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of Oswald and, for my part, would very much like to read your take on these characters too.
